Positive: We shared the house with the owner, but had our own room and bathroom, so we had total privacy. The owner, Orna, is one of the most fabulous ladies I have ever met. It was lovely to talk with her and share some time, and she was also super helpful when we asked her about logistical things (how to get to Tayrona, where to order food, what bus to take to Santa Marta, tour recommendations, anything). Although the AC was a bit noisy, it worked perfectly. Also, everything was spotless in our room and bathroom. We didn't have the chance to use the pool, but it seemed incredible! Lastly, you can pay an additional fee if you want Orna to cook you breakfast, lunch, or dinner, which can be very helpful since the house is far from any town.

Negative: The WiFi was a bit unstable, and we didn't have electricity for a brief time one evening. Still, these things are not the owner's responsibility (they depend mainly on the weather). There is no hot water, which is quite normal in the area since the weather is almost always warm and humid, hence this was not a problem for us either.
